 Amy Fine is from Long Island, New York and is a 2019 graduate from SUNY Plattsburgh. She got her Masters degree in Elementary special education. Amy joined TTC because she wanted to broaden her teaching experience and fully immerse herself in a new culture and environment. She was very interested in Thailand’s culture and way of living. She teaches Mattayom 3 and 4 at Wang Nuea Wittaya School, in Wang Nuea, Lampang. Amy is very grateful for the wonderful people she is meeting along this incredible journey and is excited to carry over lessons from in Thailand to her future classrooms.

Seley Cho is from Suwanee, Georgia and graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Seley teaches Prathome 4-6 at Wat Methang Karawas School in Phrae. She joined TTC after learning about it from Dr. Nirund at her school and decided to use this opportunity to help kids and explore Asia. She has always worked with kids and thinks learning English will positively impact their lives.

Marcelo Salinas is from Eagle Pass, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Rice University in 2019. Marcelo teaches Mathayom 3, 5, and 6 (9th, 11th, and 12th grades) at Sop Prap Phitthayakhom School located in Sop Prap, Lampang. He decided to volunteer with TTC in an effort to use his love of teaching to positively impact his student's lives.

 Francesca Giammanco is from Long Island, New York. Francesca graduated from Adelphi University in 2019 with a masters degree in Social Work. She joined TTC for the opportunity to help others while exploring Southeast Asia, learning about other cultures, and experiencing life overseas. She teaches M-5 (11th grade) and M-6 (12th grade) at Wang Nuea Wittaya school in Wang Nuea. She loves everything about her life in Thailand: the people, the food, the culture, and the ample exploration available.

  Brandon Deane graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and  plans on pursuing a Masters Degree in Behavior Therapy with a focus in Occupational Therapy. He hopes to work with youth populations and help make a positive impact on their everyday lives. Brandon teaches M. 1-6 (7th through 12th grade) students at Mae Tha Wittaya school in rural Lampang. His fellow teachers and students are amazing, always smiling and showing positive energy which is one of the many things he enjoys about life in Thailand.  Mackenzie McMahon is from Merrimack, New Hampshire. She graduated from Hofstra University in Long Island, New York in 2018 with a B.B.A. in Marketing. Following her graduation, she worked in marketing at a technology firm in Boston for one year. She joined TTC with hopes of making a difference in a small community in Thailand. Mackenzie teaches Anuban and Prathom 1 and 2 at Wat Methang Karaawas School in Phrae. What she enjoys most about living in Thailand are the people. She cannot wait to explore more of Thailand and Southeast Asia during her time overseas.

Caroline Pratt is from Greensburg, Indiana and is a 2019 graduate from Valparaiso University in NorthWest Indiana, just outside of Chicago. There, she received a B.A with majors in International Relations and Economics with a minor in Communication. Caroline teaches P. 1-6 at Anuban Hang Chat School in Lampang. Caroline joined TTC because she believes in the importance of cultural exchange through language. Through personal experience she has found that quality, equitable education is the foundation to any change, a change that she hopes to help facilitate in her own community. Caroline has loved teaching in such a beautiful country with so many wonderful people. Following her time serving with TTC, she plans on continuing her education and working in international development.

 Julia Stephen is from Johns Creek, Georgia. Julia graduated from Mercer University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Global Health Studies and Africana Studies. She joined TTC for the opportunity to work with children while experiencing and learning more about other cultures. She teaches Anuban (Kindergarten) and Prathom 3 and 4 (3rd and 4th grade) at Wat Methang Karawas School in Phrae, Thailand. Julia is absolutely loving getting to know her students and the people in the community; she also loves the travel and endless adventures that Thailand and all of Southeast Asia have to offer!

Amanda Fong

Amanda Fong is from Berkeley, California. She graduated from Willamette University with a degree in Biology. She joined TTC because of her love of cross-cultural immersion and education. Amanda teaching at Anuban Sop Prap teaching English to Prathom 1, 4, 5, and 6 as well as Art and P.E. to Prathom 1. She enjoys working closely with students and building relationships within her community like sharing her family’s holiday traditions with her classes and joining her Muay Thai gym family. She loves to stay active, whether playing soccer with neighborhood kids, training at the Muay Thai gym, or hiking around the Thai landscape. Amanda is most excited to get to know the locals in her community and immerse herself in the culture!
